Calumma Design
The John Muir Trust is the UK charity dedicated to protecting and enhancing wild places, for the benefit of all. They campaign for better land management, work with communities to maintain and connect with nature, and seek to persuade decision makers to improve government policy.
Working with Emil Blum of Calumma Design as designer and creative director, I provided illustrations for a range of John Muir Trust projects. I developed a style that looked natural and mature, with a traditional printed feel that we applied across social posts, infographics and animation (with motion design by Craig Barbour).
It was important to capture the joy and wonder found in experiencing natural beauty, but also the bleakness and desolation left when our landscape is mismanaged and exploited.
