Daydream Believers
Daydream Believers is changing the creative industry landscape. Not only is it a teaching resource, with fun and challenging briefs from real brands, students can now earn qualifications in Creative Thinking and Creative Innovation. As the organisation grew from strength to strength, it needed an identity to match it’s creative and ever curious personality.
With Emil Blum of Calumma Design as Creative Director, I was asked develop the brand's mascot 'Brua'. Their name comes from the Scottish Gaelic ‘bruadar’ meaning ‘dream’, linking Daydream Believers’ ethos with their Scottish roots.
The aim for Brua's design was to create a childlike character that captured the excitement, playfulness and energy of the young people that use the resources, and we wanted them to be able to illustrate the many unique ways to bring creativity into learning and everyday life.
Brua’s antics feature heavily within all of Daydream Believers’ branding – in the logo, as spot illustrations, framing devices, in comms – even on the merch!
